    Swiss food generally goes from good to great, in 50 years of visiting Switzerland I can only remember one bad meal at a restaurant there, however also had plenty of self made meals with ingredients from Coop, Migros or local Supermarkets

    I can’t wait to come back to Switzerland. I loved everything I had there!!! The Pizza was incredible! Also the Fondue, Raclette, Bratwursts, Alplermagronen, Rösti, Croissants, Kuchen, Quiches, Spitzbueben.. I never had one thing there I didn’t like! My family from the Philippines, so maybe that’s why I want to try some of these Old country restaurants you talked about! Thank you... 😘🌏

    ziger is very similar to ricotta! it’s kind of a cheese. in zigerkrapfen they put raisins and sugar in the „ricotta“/ziger mix and close it in a dough, deepfry and then put sugar outside. it is delicious!!!

    Coop and Migros are literally the most expensive "premium" stores which you can find. But they sell just normal stuff for 3x whats worth it. Go to Denner, Lidl and Aldi instead, they have normal prices and they have discounts before closing aswell.

    • @jennydawson6952
      @jennydawson6952 2 года назад +1

      Coop and Migros aren't premium. They are the basic stores for ordinary Swiss.
      Aldi and Lidl are bargain stores with harsh lighting and long queues, and make for a very unpleasant shopping experience.
      Manor is the premium store.

    • @costinvaly1

      Except the one you entirely cook from scratch. It isn't that bad if you cook both from scratch and storing future meals either in the freezer or jars (with natural preservatives).

    if my memory serves me right , the place you are sitting has a boat rental in front of you and there's a food stall behind you on the right side and maybe you brought the food from there and the big hotel behind you has free toilet whose code you can get from boat rental guy.

    • @SwitzerlandInsider
      @SwitzerlandInsider  4 года назад +1

      Haha! yes, the food is not from there though but from a bakery called Macchi. You remember it all correctly 😉 you can also get the code from the hotel bar 😂

    Do you have any recommendations for a thermal/natural mineral springs?

    • @SwitzerlandInsider
      @SwitzerlandInsider  4 года назад +2

      We don‘t really have natural springs you can bath in. However there are a few places, where thermal baths have been installed because of great water nearby. At some of these places the Romans have taken baths already (although not in the same pool 😉). These destinations usually have to word „Bad“ or „bain“ in them (=bath). If you go to kuren.ch or www.femelle.ch/guide/die-schoensten-thermalbaeder-der-schweiz-2308 , you can find some examples of what I mean! If you go on weekdays you will find them less crowded.

    Dude.... Denner! Migors and Coop are to expensive!

    • @costinvaly1
      @costinvaly1 3 года назад

      Denner isn't really far from them. They also play the "fake discounts" game, calling a piece of meat "on aktion" at a particular price. On the back of it, it's the original "price per KG," and once you check the weight of the product, the "Aktion" is actually the same price per kg but tailored to the weight of the product. Silly and insulting against someone with a brain. Most Coops sell cheaper salmon and chicken breast, for example, while Migros is more affordable in other aspects. None of them is a good all-rounder price-wise-you gotta spot who sells what cheaper and adapt.

    if you have lived in berlin or any place like, Turky, palestine, libanon, israel, … dönner are really disgusting in switzerland. make sure to go to a special place where they have real meat, real yogurt sauce, real tahini dressing, real hummus … otherwise you will be prepared for a sausage like excuse for meat and mayonnaise in its variations(cocktail,aioli,tartare,kräuter)for sauce…you might even find canned corn in the salad they put inside…. and the bread they use…. well I love the fluffy kurdish bread (freshly made on the wall of a ceramic wood oven!) they used in one of my favourite places in berlin, haven’t found it nowhere in switzerland so far.

      @@SwitzerlandInsider we are still confused where to stay in Switzerland, I mean in which city, mainly we have to cover jungfrau, and titlis or Pilatus and few places near by.

    • @SwitzerlandInsider
      @SwitzerlandInsider  4 года назад

      If you have a car, it does not really matter as in Central Switzerland you will not be driving longer than 1h in most cases to see something. It also depends if you want to move your location everyday or every couple of days. If you want to stay in 1 place and experience a good amount then I recommend you stay somewhere around Lucerne. You can easily visit Interlaken and the Alps on a day trip. I hope this answers your question ☺️
